Time has flown since Chinese New Year!! We've been looking at the art of mystery artist Wayne Thiebaud and his love of painting desserts. We've done a painting of our favourite desserts, learning about shading and value. We've even thrown some maths in there and discussed 3D shapes!! As I always tell my students, in the art classroom you can learn EVERY subject!
Grades three and four painting their favourite desserts.
Grade seven learning watercolour techniques for their painting.
Grade seven starting their watercolour painting. We even had a guest appearance from Naomi's friend Eleanor who was visiting from America!
After we finish our watercolour painting, we will start one of the most exciting units of the semester-CLAY!! We will continue our study of Wayne Thiebaud, turning our watercolour paintings into 3D sculptures.
I am the art teacher at Shanghai United International School PuDong Campus. I teach art to Grade Three Panda all the way to Grade Eight. I am also the Homeroom teacher for Grade8TB. Lucky them! Some students think I am famous, because everyone knows me at our school. :]
