Grade three has been working on an artist from Austria called Friedenreich Hundertwasser. He loved wavy lines and had a strong connection to nature.
First we painted papers using warm and cool colours. Then we chose a background colour and cut one of the papers to resemble wavy lines and spaces them out on the paper. We used markers to add patterns and textures to our papers as well. Then we used the other paper we made to cut out circle flower-like shapes to collage on top of the background. We used a lot of paper but it was so much fun-and the students really know who Hundertwasser is and what kind of art he does!
