Today students in grade five reviewed what they learned about lines, patterns, and complimentary colours. Then we got straight to work on finishing our names! We used crayons to. Make patterns and lines, and then used watercolour to paint over them. This technique is called a resist. Students were so amazed when the aunt didn't stick to the crayons (wax and water don't mix!) They thought it was just amazing.
Students who finished early told me that the flyers I was going to hand out looked too white, so we painted them too! Students flung, splattered, and dripped their paint all over the white flyers. They LOVED it. I think I loved it too!!!
I am the art teacher at Shanghai United International School PuDong Campus. I teach art to Grade Three Panda all the way to Grade Eight. I am also the Homeroom teacher for Grade8TB. Lucky them! Some students think I am famous, because everyone knows me at our school. :]
