The first two weeks of school have gone by so fast! I've sent out an art letter to all the parents (hopefully you've received it!) and the students have started their first projects. So far we're working with lines, patterns and colours. Really exciting! Some classes read the book called 'The Dot' and made their own dots to start off the year. We learned to 'just make a mark and see where it takes you!' Some classes are working on 'Name Monsters', others are working on using positive and negative space in their names to create interesting patterns and other classes are starting printmaking (using the lines in their name). See a pattern here?!
Here are a few photos of this past week in particular and I hope to update more regularly once the school year has taken off and settled down a bit. :)
I am the art teacher at Shanghai United International School PuDong Campus. I teach art to Grade Three Panda all the way to Grade Eight. I am also the Homeroom teacher for Grade8TB. Lucky them! Some students think I am famous, because everyone knows me at our school. :]
